Knox City Police Chief Clint Norem updated the Board of Public Works members on operations in his department on Wednesday morning.

He said that the new officer’s physical has been completed and that information will be sent to PERF. After that is approved, he can go through the necessary training and he continue as a patrolman on the force.

Chief Norem also told the board members that the computers in the cars will need to be upgraded as they are outdated. With the cancellation of Windows XP in the computers, the computers can’t be used. With the cost of computers and brackets to be placed inside the car, the total cost could be around $1,000 apiece. He will get quotes together for the board to review and approve. The type of computer that he is looking at will mirror the computers in service by the county.
