Infant Death Under Investigation

Winamac Police Department detectives and officials with the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of a two-month-old boy.

Winamac Police Chief Michael Buchanan told WKVI News that the infant died Tuesday morning at a home in the 400 block of Main Street in Winamac. The child had previous medical issues and no foul play is suspected at this time.

According to Pulaski County Deputy Coroner Tracy Rossman, an autopsy was conducted Wednesday morning and the cause of death is pending. More will be known when toxicology test results return. Rossman said those results could take up to six weeks to complete.

The child was reportedly in foster care at the time of his death.
