Officers from the LaPorte County DUI Taskforce will be out in full force during the Fourth of July holiday.
Additional patrols have been added this week and they will continue throughout the month targeting specific dates, times and locations.
Officers encourage you to stay safe this holiday, especially during local celebrations.
Sergeant Harlan Williams, Commander of the LaPorte County DUI Taskforce, recommends that you plan ahead. Designate a sober driver and if you do consume alcoholic beverages seek out alternate transportation. Call a sober friend or family member. If you know someone is intoxicated, do not let them get behind the wheel. If you see a possible intoxicated driver on the roadway, call 911.
