The exterior of the new shell building at 2910 Commerce Street in Plymouth is moving along.

Three massive concrete panels have been installed and construction cranes remain on the scene and can be spotted from U.S. 30, according to officials from the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC). This is just the beginning of the construction of the 45,000 square foot building that will house a business or industry once it is completed by October.

The MCEDC is launching a new targeted marketing campaign to market the building in partnership with a regional economic development organization with a specific focus on business attraction. Industrial real estate communities will be targeted and the building contractor, Garmong Construction, will also work to provide additional marketing to attract business to Marshall County.

Indiana Economic Development Corporation statistics show that 60 to 80 percent of businesses seeking a new site begin by looking for an existing building.

Construction on this building will continue through the summer. Once complete, the structure will be the first shell building in Marshall County constructed specifically for the attraction of business and industry to the county.
