Harvest Festival to be Revived in 2015

The Harvest Festival in Knox has an organizer for 2015.

Paula Voss approached the Knox City Council last week and offered to take on the popular festival. She noted that it will be held the same weekend as in the past and she’s already in contact with vendors to revive the three-day event in downtown Knox.

She said she’d be willing to take over the music portion of the festival as well.

Voss asked for the city’s help in appointing a board for the festival to assist her in the planning. The city will be looking for a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer for next year’s Harvest Festival that is planned for Aug. 21 through Aug. 23. Voss said there are several church groups that are willing to step in and be a presence in planning.

Mayor Rick Chambers encourages anyone who is interested to call his office at 772-4553. After a committee is formed, meetings will be held to plan the event and to schedule fundraisers.
