Cause Found in Fire Investigation at Local Business

Evidence in an analysis of the remains of a fire at Standard Pallet in Knox found that a lightning strike caused the fire at the business on 300 East, according to fire officials.

An investigator from the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office was at the scene this week to help determine the cause of the inferno. Four fire departments battled the blaze at the factory for about nine hours on Friday, Aug. 22.

The Knox City Council members recently commended the firefighters for their dedication to the safety of the citizens. Some firefighters made sure to notify employers of the situation and stayed on the scene to make sure that the area was secure before leaving. No injuries were reported in the incident.
