Credit Card Fraud Investigation Leads to Three Arrests

A credit card fraud investigation leads to three arrests in Marshall County. Authorities there got a complaint Saturday night from a Lapaz resident who told police a relative stole the card and made several fraudulent purchases. Officers found the suspect, Aaron Eckman III on the back of a moped driven by Randall Warren Jr. During the course of the investigation, the officers determined the moped was stolen from Bremen, according to a news release. Both Eckman and Warren were arrested without incident. The officers then arrested a third suspect in the fraud, Justin Haining. He managed to escape from the squad car on foot while still wearing handcuffs. Officers found him Monday and arrested him a second time. Eckman is jailed on fraud and theft charges as well as an outstanding warrant. Warren is charged with receiving stolen property. Haining is jailed on a $20,000 cash bond for escape and fraud.
