Three women were arrested at the Michigan City Superior Courthouse for their alleged role in trafficking and conspiracy to traffic with an inmate.
Maria Burks, 46 of LaPorte, was arrested on charges of conspiracy-trafficking with an inmate outside of a facility, a Level 6 felony; trafficking with an inmate outside of a facility, a Level 6 felony and possession of cocaine or narcotic drug between 10 and 28 grams, a Level 4 felony. She was later released after posting a $20,000 bond.
Brittney Sanders, 23 of Michigan City and Johnesha Reed, 20 of LaPorte, were arrested on preliminary charges of conspiracy-trafficking with an inmate outside of a facility and trafficking with an inmate outside of a facility, both Level 6 felonies. They were released after posting a $755 bond.
These arrests were made after information was quickly gathered and with the investigation of the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit and multiple agencies.
