Awards Given at Starke County 4-H Achievement Night

4HThe Starke County 4-H program recently celebrated the accomplishments of the youth and adult volunteers from the 2014 program year. Exploring 4-H Leader with the Starke County Barn Busters Dawn Wallen was named the Outstanding 4-H Leader for 2014. Wallen was nominated for this award by other 4-H volunteers and 4-H members, and was chosen by a committee of 4-H Extension Educators from across the state.

Several 4-H members were also recognized for their achievements in project manuals and record sheets. The selection of the 44 members was based on their completion of each project and was chosen by a committee of 4-H Council members.

The Citizenship Award was given to Taylor Kemble and to Rachel Lenig for showing excellence in citizenship. The Leadership Award was given to Katherine Back and Margaret Nagai for exhibiting their leadership skills. Kayla Grossman and Natalie Radtke were recognized for their overall achievement in 4-H by receiving the Achievement Award.

Also recognized were the winners of the Electric Awards, Ball Food Preservation Awards, Key Club Awards, and those Junior Leaders who completed the project in 2014.
