Freezing rain is possible late tonight into tomorrow morning across much of northwest Indiana. The National Weather Service advises rain will start to fall around midnight and continue through the early morning hours.
The combination of rain and temperatures in the upper 20s to right around freezing during the first few hours will lead to minor ice accumulations on cold surfaces. Keep that in mind if you’re out early, as roads and sidewalks will be slick. Tomorrow’s high temperatures should be well above freezing, so any slick patches will likely be gone by early afternoon. The National Weather Service cautions the timing and amount of freezing rain is tough to pinpoint. Motorists are urged to stay alert to the latest forecast and allow ample travel time.
