LaPorte City Police Department Reports OPO Results

The LaPorte Police Department conducted 40 hours of patrols during last week’s Operation Pull Over event. Officers wrote 52 citations and 64 warnings which included 39 citations for seat belt violations and one citation for a child restraint violation.

Operation Pull Over is a federally funded traffic safety program administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

LaPorte police remind you to report any type of dangerous driving. When you report that to 911 dispatchers, make sure you know the location, the vehicle’s direction of travel, a description of the vehicle, and the nature of the offense.

Officers urge you not to confront another motorist and keep your distance from reckless drivers and never attempt to follow a speeding or dangerous driver. Pay attention to your own driving and do not become fixated on the dangerous driver.
