Superintendent Don Street said the calendar is similar to this year’s calendar.
“Our teachers will be starting school on the tenth of August and the students will be arriving on Thursday the 13th of August. We also had a little discussion concerning balanced calendars of the schools in the area that are looking at, if you will, a semi-balanced calendar,” said Street.
Street said a balanced calendar can not be considered in the future.
“It’s something that many districts are talking about in giving more breaks to students. There is research out there that states that going to school for 45 days, having a break and then continuing school keeps students fresher. They’re better academically. I think it’s something that we need to discuss as other districts are in the state as well.”
