The Starke County Council will close the books on 2014 during a special meeting this afternoon. Their agenda includes budget status reports of the county general, highway, assessors and health funds.
An update on expenditures from the DARE fund will also be provided. Councilman and former DARE officer Freddie Baker recently questioned how the sheriff’s department was using the money in that account. IU Health Starke Hospital President Craig Felty is also on today’s agenda to answer questions about the hospital’s third quarter asset report. The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. at the county annex building.
