IDEM Offers Free Earth Day Presentations For Schools

IDEM-logo_rgbresizeHoosier schools can celebrate Earth Day by scheduling a presenter from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) to visit with their students. They will talk about their careers and share lessons about air, land and water quality. The interactive presentations are between 30 and 50 minutes long and include interactive activities like building an edible landfill or “Environmental Jeopardy.” They will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis from April 6-17. Each school may request up to four presentations.

Schools should complete the IDEM Earth Day Celebration Speaker Reservation form at https://forms.in.gov/Download.aspx?id=6615. Completed forms may be e-mailed to education@idem.IN.gov or faxed to (317) 233-5970. Find more information about presenters online at www.IN.gov/idem/iee. Educators may direct questions to IDEM Environmental Education Coordinator Jennifer Woolson-Helrigel at (800) 451-6027, ext. 3-5433.
