The Knox Fireworks Committee is still raising money to offset the cost of the annual Independence Day weekend show. The next fundraiser is a dinner tomorrow (Saturday) evening at the Downtown Depot restaurant from 5 until 7 p.m.
Plans are also in the works for a cupcakes and canvas event on Thursday, June 25 at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in downtown Knox from 6 until 8 p.m. The painting will feature fireworks. Details are still being finalized, but the cost will include all art supplies.
The Knox fireworks will take place Friday, July 3rd at dusk at the Starke County Airport, northwest of the city. Gates will open at 4 p.m. CDT, and music and food will be featured prior to the start of the show. A gate fee of $5 per vehicle will be collected.
