North Judson-San Pierre Classroom Teachers Association members want to double check their new contract before submitting it to the school board for approval. Superintendent Lynn Johnson says negotiations with union officials have gone very well, and there are minimal changes.
One reflects the change in the payroll schedule due to the switch to the balanced calendar, and another addresses a change in insurance premiums. Salaries are frozen, and professional development will be offered if grant money is available to cover the cost. Johnson told the school board last night there are no sticking points, the teachers just want to make sure the “I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed.” Rather than wait until next month to adopt a contract, the board will meet in a brief special-called session to do so.
