Higher Labor Day Travel Fueled by Lower Gas Prices

AAA35.5 million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles over the Labor Day weekend.

That’s according to projections from AAA. They say it will be the highest volume of travelers for the holiday since 2008. It will also mark the fourth year in a row travel volume has grown.

AAA attributes the growth in part to the decrease in gas prices. Nearly 86 percent of travelers are expected to drive, and Labor Day gas prices are on track to be the lowest they’ve been in a decade.
