Put on your poodle skirts, slick back your hair and enjoy music and festivities from the 1950s and 60s for a good cause on Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in downtown Knox. The WKVI staff is hosting a benefit to help our morning show host, Tom Berg, pay for medical expenses associated with his ongoing cancer treatment.Festivities get under way at 5:30 p.m. The $10 price of admission includes light refreshments, live performances of timeless songs from the 1950s and 60s by the band “Classic Vinyl” and hula hoop and limbo contests. Root beer floats will also be available, and classic cars will be on display. Additionally, several area businesses have donated raffle and silent auction items. Call the station at 574-772-6241 or stop by during business hours to purchase raffle tickets or donate items for the silent auction. Tickets are also available from WKVI staff members.
