BraunAbility Names New Operations Executive

braun_logoBraunAbility has named a new Executive Vice President of Operations.

Kevin Hayes comes to the Winamac-based company after 12 years with Fiat Chrysler, where he’d served as manager at four different manufacturing and vehicle assembly plants, most recently at the Kokomo Casting Plant. He also worked for 18 years at General Motors.

BraunAbility said in a statement Hayes now oversees all of the company’s operations groups, including Manufacturing & Assembly, Purchasing & Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality. He’ll also coordinate with the company’s partners in Sweden and Brazil.

In the statement, Hayes says his first goal is to “put systems and processes in place to accelerate the manufacturing capabilities” at BraunAbility. He also stressed the importance of talking to the workers, since he says they have a lot of good ideas, and to give them the resources to make improvements.

The new hiring comes weeks after the company was purchased by Swedish investment firm Investor AB’s Patricia Division.
