North Judson Patrol Car Replacement Pending

The Ford Crown Victoria was one of two North Judson Police Department patrol cars destroyed in a fire last week.

The North Judson Police Department’s fleet is two cars short following a fire last week that destroyed Town Marshal Doug Vessely’s detached garage. The 2011 Ford Crown Victoria and 2013 Dodge Charger patrol cars were parked inside the structure in the 300 block of Garden Street. An investigator with the state fire marshal’s office determined the fire started accidentally and traced the origin to the Ford. Nobody was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

North Judson Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry says both cars were insured by the town, and a claim is pending with their carrier. Meanwhile the town still has a patrol vehicle available.
