Knox Council Wants O’s Tap Update from Police Chief

City_of_Knox_LogoThe Knox City Council wants to hear from Police Chief Clint Norem about problems involving O’s Tap. Frank and Tammy Guzman recently opened a jewelry store on Main Street next door to the bar and have reported several incidents involving patrons.

Problems include people urinating in their doorway, breaking beer bottles on the sidewalk and discarding trash in the alley. Tammy Guzman has complained numerous times to the city council about the problem. At their last meeting members expressed a desire to hear from the police chief regarding enforcement efforts.

Norem previously told WKVI News his department does not have the manpower to maintain a constant police presence in front of the bar. He did promise to step up patrols on the weekends when O’s draws the biggest crowds.

Meanwhile Guzman says plans to open a western shop and possibly a shoe store in downtown Knox are on hold until the matters are resolved.

The Knox City Council meets at 7 p.m. at city hall.
