Local Fund Established for Fire Victims

A fund has been set up at First National Bank of Monterey to help a Pulaski County family who lost everything in a recent house fire.

Donny and Melissa Jones, their children, and her parents, Mark and Midge Mandiola, got out of the house safely when it caught fire in the early morning hours of Dec. 5. The home in the 3200 block of North 300 West near Ripley was fully involved when the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department arrived, and firefighters spent six hours battling the blaze.

Midge is the associate director of Pulaski County Human Services. Volunteers there have established an account at the First National Bank of Monterey to help the family with expenses and say contributions can be dropped off at the Monterey, Winamac or North Judson bank branches. Donors should indicate the contributions are for the Mandiola Fire Fund.

A GoFundMe.com page has also been set up to collect donations for the family. Visit House Fire Before the Holidays if you would like to contribute.
