Culver School Board to Further Discuss Cost-Cutting Measures

CulverHSThe Culver School Board will continue to discuss ways to cut costs at the corporation when it meets this evening. According to the agenda released ahead of tonight’s meeting, board members will discuss the non-renewal of an administrator’s contract, as well as combining the middle and high schools.

The Monterey Building will again be up for discussion, and corporation treasurer Casey Howard will give the school board a financial update.

Also during tonight’s meeting, the school principals will review the recently-released ISTEP results. Culver Community Schools saw the biggest drop in test scores locally, with only 44.8 percent of students passing both the English/Language Arts and Math tests. The school board also plans to discuss the proposed 2016-2017 school calendar.

Tonight’s meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Culver School Administration Building.
