SCYC Seeks Donations After Enrolling in Tax Preparation Program

Local residents can support an area not-for-profit this year during tax season.

The Starke County Youth Club says they are taking part in the H&R Block referral program.

It allows individuals filing their taxes with the company to retrieve an identification number associated with the non-profit. A donation will then be made to the enrolled charitable organization once the tax return has been filed.

According to information provided by the H&R Block referral program, so long as the individual filing their return is a new client, the Starke County Youth Club will receive $20 per filing for the effort. The program says it has donated more than $382-thousand through the referral program.

The Starke County Youth Club says that in addition to asking for donations through the tax preparation process, they are also seeking individuals interested in serving as an after school instructor. More information can be found on the SCYC website.
