Knox High School Sees Success at JAG Competition

Knox High School had a successful competition last week at the Jobs for America’s Graduates Regional Career Development Conference in Gary. Knox students placed first in five different categories.

Michael Talaga got first place in the Creative Solutions event and Thomas Shaw placed first in Critical Thinking. Knox also won some team events, placing first in Chapter Commercial, Chapter Marketing Brochure, and Entrepreneurship Planning. All the first place winners go on to the state Career Development Conference in March.

On top of that, Knox had an additional five students reach the top three in their categories. JAG is a national program designed to help at-risk students finish high school and then either pursue post-secondary education or secure quality jobs.
