Eastern Pulaski School Board Discusses Summer Classes

The Eastern Pulaski School Board Monday night approved summer school courses if enrollment is sufficient. Tentative plans call summer physical education and economics to be taught in a classroom setting. Summer PE averages between 50 and 60 students each year. The economics class draws between 30 and 40 during the summer term.

Other classes will be taught through the new Warrior Academy this year for the first time. In the past they’ve been offered through the Indiana Virtual Academy. School officials have not decided yet what online classes will be taught, as decisions will be based on demand. In order to qualify for reimbursement, summer school must average 15 students enrolled in all classes. Possible virtual options are English 9 and 10 to help students stay on track.

The school board will approve summer school teachers at their May meeting.
