Blood Drive Scheduled in Honor of WKVI’s Tom Berg

Tom BergCelebrate life and make a difference this Election Day by giving blood. The American Red Cross is hosting a drive tomorrow at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on South Heaton Street in Knox in honor of WKVI morning show host Tom Berg. He was diagnosed last summer with Stage 4 cancer and is on medical leave during his treatment. Tom used to be a faithful blood donor but is no longer able to give due to his medical condition.

He will be on hand at tomorrow’s blood drive handing out snacks and greeting donors. It will take place from 12:30 until 6 p.m.

Potential donors will be evaluated on-site. In order to give blood you must be in good general health and feeling well, be at least 17, or 16 with parental permission and weigh at least 110 pounds. Find more information online at www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-in donors are welcome, or you can schedule a donation appointment online or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
