Knox Family Involved in Weekend LaPorte County Crash

 
 

The names of those involved in a LaPorte County crash on Sunday have been released, and one of the vehicles was occupied by a Knox family.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the area of U.S. 421 and U.S. 6. Investigators believe a white mini-van, driven by 50-year-old Lisa Vargas, was traveling west on Highway 6 and allegedly pulled in front of a southbound Buick SUV.

Numerous emergency responders were called to the scene to assist. A medical helicopter was also used at the scene to transport the victims. Those inside the Buick reside in Knox, Indiana according to an updated release from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department.

44-year-old David Wagner, Sr., 40-year-old Rebekah Wagner, 21-year-old Kayla Wagner, 19-year-old Kourtney Wagner, and 13-year-old David Wagner, Jr. were inside the SUV at the time of the incident.

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department says they do not have an update on the condition of those involved at this time. It was initially reported that all of the victims of the crash were listed in either serious or critical condition.
