Local Students Receive Burger King Scholarships

A few local students are getting help paying for college, thanks to Burger King restaurants. Quality Dining, which owns several Burger Kings, has released the names of Burger King scholarship recipients in the local area.

Included on that list are Knox Community High School student Hannah Coad, South Central student Megan Cummings, and LaPorte High School students Jordan Behenna and Amie Decker. They will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Burger King McLamore Foundation.

A few local Burger King employees have also been selected to receive a $1,000 employee scholarship. These include Mariah Bochnicka of North Judson, Daulton Materna of Culver, Brandon Claussen of Wanatah, Destiny Bickel of Westville, and Jonathan Aaron and Joshua Aaron, both of LaPorte.

The Burger King McLamore Foundation scholarship program aims to recognize students who achieve high academic standards, while also being involved in co-curricular activities or community service.
