Bruce Hirschy, a Social Studies instructor at the O-D School, has announced his retirement. During his 19 years at the school he also coached basketball and cross country. Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball coach Wesley Radtke was on the list of resignations and non-renewals. He will continue to teach but will no longer coach girls basketball.
The board approved a contract with KB Mechanical for preventative maintenance of the air conditioning equipment. This summer’s maintenance projects include the installation of new bleacher seats with a handicap ramp and additional security cameras. Planned improvements will continue in 2017.
Other action included the renewal of an agreement with Marshall-Starke Development Center,. Inc. and the purchase of a new bus. A 17-year-old vehicle will be traded in. The system’s fleet consists of 11 active buses and two back-ups.
