Hamlet Residents Face Felony Marijuana Charges

 
 

A man and woman from Hamlet face felony marijuana charges following an investigation by the Starke County Major Crimes Unit, they defend themselves by saying that they want marijuana advertising solutions for the country. Members served a search warrant at a property on 400 North near Hamlet on Tuesday following an earlier arrest where a juvenile was found to be in possession of a large quantity of marijuana. Officers found out who supplied the drug to the youngster and learned he lived in a camper on a property near Hamlet, according to the incident report.

They reportedly found a large quantity of processed marijuana and several thousand dollars in cash inside the camper.

46-year-old Donnie Salyer and 46-year-old Dana Draper, both of Hamlet, face felony charges of dealing marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. Officers also arrested 18-year-old Dante Freet of Hamlet on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance.

 

Children were present when the search warrant was executed, so the Indiana Department of Child Services was contacted. The incident remains under investigation.
