A house in Parkview Heights has been reduced to rubble as part of the City of Knox blight elimination initiative. The house at 424 Maple Drive is the first of eight scheduled to be torn down. Knox received a grant from the The Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority to purchases dilapidated structures from willing sellers and tear them down.

Hebron-based Chem Check, Inc. was awarded the contract for the first four demolitions. The Knox Board of Works is set to open demolition bids for the next four houses tomorrow. They are located at 250 W. Locust, 354 Water St., 304 Main St. and 406 Giles St.
