The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help in tracking down a convicted burglar. Officials with the Sheriff’s Office say Jeffery S. Glancy was recently sentenced to the Indiana Department of Correction but was granted a two-week furlough on May 2 to attend to a family member with medical issues. The Sheriff’s Office says he still hasn’t returned to the LaPorte County Jail.
Glancy was given a ten-year sentence in LaPorte Circuit Court after being convicted of Burglary and Theft for crimes in LaPorte County. He also has pending criminal cases in Porter County, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say they’ve filed for a warrant to charge Glancy with Escape, as a Level 6 felony.
Jeffery Glancy is described as a white male, five feet-six inches tall, weighing 175 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and tattoos on his upper right arm, both forearms, and on his upper back, including one with the name “Kelly” on his left forearm.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office at 219-326-7700.
