Wanatah to Host Second Annual 5K Run/Walk

Local runners have the chance to test their skills in Wanatah this weekend, while helping to support the local community. On Saturday, the town is hosting its second annual 5K run/walk race to help raise money for the Wanatah Scarecrow Festival and the LaCrosse High School Athletic Department.

This year’s event, called the Wanatah 150 Plus One, follows the same route as last year’s Sesquicentennial Race. Organizers say the racecourse is flat and fast, with no hills.

Awards will be given to the top overall male and female, as well as the winners of each age group. There will also be a raffle for walkers, and snacks will be served after the race.

Participants may register online by Friday at 4 p.m. The race starts at 8:00 a.m. Saturday at Wanatah Elementary/Junior High School, with packet pickup beginning at 7:00.
