Culver’s annual Lake Fest gathering will take place this Friday and will run through Sunday.

The community event is being celebrated alongside the state’s bicentennial celebration, and as such, will celebrate Culver’s local history. Jeff Kenney is considered a Culver town historian of sorts and has been named as the 2016 Lake Fest parade marshal. This year’s parade will kick off on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

That will not be the first event, though. Festivities begin on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. with a classic car cruise-in, and local food and art vendors available for visitors. The Miss Maxinkuckee Pageant will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening with the previous year’s winners expected to return.

Saturday will also be packed with activities. A bass fishing tournament and race will start the morning. That will be followed by the parade, boat show, and kid’s events. Later Saturday evening, live entertainment will be available.

Sunday will continue Culver’s Lake Fest with a sausage breakfast and community church service. The sunfish regatta will take place at 9:00 a.m. and the post car show lake cruise will conclude the event.

The Culver Town Council finalized the layout of the events during their meeting on Tuesday.
