The Oregon-Davis School Corporation has officially signed on to an updated agreement to share a speech pathologist with North Judson-San Pierre. According to the revised memorandum of understanding, Oregon-Davis will cover 30 percent of the cost, while N.J.-S.P. will pay the rest.

The N.J.-S.P. School Board approved the agreement last month, as one of the changes included in its “right-sizing” initiative. This week, the O-D School Board added its approval, according to superintendent Don Harman.

Also during Monday’s meeting, the O-D School Board discussed its student transfer policy. Harman says the corporation’s limits on transfer students will be somewhat flexible, “We will take new transfers up until a point in time where it could possibly affect our staffing, and if then that is the case, we may have to limit or stop our new transfers.”

A change in state law in 2013 makes it easier for students to move between school districts. However, school corporations are required to update their transfer policy each year.
