Additional Homes Added to Knox Blight Elimination Grant

The City of Knox will be able to demolish a total of 10 houses with funds from a blight elimination grant. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council Tuesday the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority has accepted the final two structures into the program. They’re located at 303 E. John St. and 202 N. Clark St.

So far four houses have been torn down, and four others are pending. Estok says the contractor the city chose finally got all of the necessary paperwork submitted to the state.

So far Knox has received a reimbursement of $20,600 from the state through the program.
