ISPA PAC Endorses Local House, Senate Candidates

The Indiana State Police Alliance political action committee has announced their endorsements heading into the 2016 general election.

According to a press release, the ISPA says they developed the list based on past performance of some of the candidates as well as sit-down interviews with those seeking public office.

The ISPA PAC represents more than 1,100 state police officers.

In the state House District 16 race, the ISPA is backing Republican Doug Gutwein. He represents Pulaski County in addition to areas immediately west. In House District 20, serving portions of Starke and LaPorte County, Republican Jim Pressel has received the ISPA’s backing.

On the side of the Indiana State Senate Races, the ISPA has endorsed Republican State Senator Ed Charbonneau in District 5. He serves portions of Porter and Starke County in his district.

In the contentious race for Governor, the ISPA has thrown their support behind Democratic candidate John Gregg.

The organization’s political action committee says they’re confident their chosen candidates will promote the interests of the Indiana State Police during 2017’s session of the general assembly.
