Grants Available for Gas Stations to Add, Expand Ethanol Offerings

Grant funds are available from the state for gas stations looking to add ethanol to their product offerings.

Round four of the Hoosier Homegrown Fuels (HHF) Blender Pump Program has more than $122,000 available to expand the availability of higher ethanol blends in areas of the state where blends of E15 – E85 are limited or not available. Those abbreviations indicate the amount of ethanol available in the fuel. A minimum of two and maximum of five dispensers per pump location are eligible for funds.

Applications can be sent to both grants@oed.in.gov and kparrent@indianacorn.org beginning today, April 3, 2017, through April 25, 2017. Program guidelines are available at www.in.gov/oed/2736.htm. Grant recipients will be notified by letter and email by May 10, 2017.

Stations who receive grants will be asked to track ethanol sales by volume and marketing efforts through 2017 and ethanol sales through 2022. That data will help the Indiana Office of Energy Development and Indiana Corn Marketing Council measure the impact of the new ethanol fueling infrastructure.

So far the program has provided more than $1.3 million in grant funding.
