Pulaski County Council May Consider Courthouse Elevator Replacement, Court Software Switch

A new elevator for the Pulaski County Courthouse may be considered by the county council. Last week, the Pulaski County Commissioners gave their support to a plan from Keystone Architecture to replace the existing elevator with a larger, ADA-compliant one in the same spot. Now, it’s up to the county council to make the necessary funding arrangements for the project to move ahead.

During tonight’s meeting, council members are also expected to offer their input on a software switch for the county’s court system. Pulaski County could save $25,000 a year by switching to the Odyssey case management system used by most of the rest of the state.

However, there could also be some significant initial expenses, since the system would require new computer equipment and Internet service upgrades. County Clerk Christi Hoffa has also expressed concerns about Odyssey’s tech support, among other issues.

Tonight’s Pulaski County Council meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Pulaski County Courthouse.
