Appraisals Taking Place for Monterey School Building
The former Monterey School Building is in the process of being appraised, ahead of a planned sale of the property. Culver Schools Interim Superintendent Chuck Kitchell told the school board Monday that one appraisal was completed a couple of weeks ago and another was scheduled for Tuesday of this week. Ancilla College Planning for Second Annual Day of Giving
Ancilla College will be holding its second annual Day of Giving on Friday, April 29. College officials hope to get a total goal of 200 donors to take part in this year’s event by donating online, and they’re challenging each of those donors to give $24. Development and alumni relations manager Emily Hutsell says this level of donations can change the lives of students at Ancilla, where 90 percent of students receive some sort of financial assistance. A major employer in Winamac may be taking the first steps that could lead to future investments.
Monday night’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting brought a request from CDC Executive Director Nathan Origer following talks with BraunAbility and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Under the proposal, County Road 60 between 14 and 25 South would be vacated by the county.

This is the first day to vote absentee in advance of the May 3rd primary election. Polls will be open at the Starke County Courthouse each Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until noon and from 1 until 4 p.m. through Friday, April 29th.
