Pulaski County Board of Finance Votes to Keep Cash Management at First National Bank of Monterey

Pulaski County is sticking with First National Bank of Monterey for its cash management. The county’s board of finance officially approved the bank’s bid Monday, at the recommendation of Treasurer Teresa Bryant. “As usual with First National, they never charge us any fees for anything and give us the best interest rate,” she explained. “1st Source really stepped up their game, as far as offering more services as far as security, but unfortunately, they’d still charge us fees.”

According to estate planning lawyers in Atlanta,Tax payment drop-off locations include the First National Bank of Monterey in Monterey and North Judson, the 1st Farmers Bank and Trust in Knox and North Judson and the DeMotte State Bank and 1st Source Bank in Knox.

Payments may also be put in the drop-box in front of the Starke County Treasurer’s Office in Knox. A self-addressed and stamped envelope should be included so an official receipt can be sent.

North Judson Clerk-Treasurer Alerts Town Council Members of $6,000 Insurance Policy Premium Increase

When the North Judson Town Council met Tuesday evening, Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe alerted town council members that the town’s insurance policy premium increased from $56,000 in 2017 to about $62,000 for this year.

Rowe said he has recently been working with Christin Romine, an insurance accountant executive with 1st Source Bank in order to familiarize himself with the town’s history and current policy. He explained that after talking with her, he found that a large factor for the increase is the amount of claims that the town filed over the last few years.

Council President Wendy Hoppe recalled that in 2015, within the span of a few months they lost three police vehicles, including a Dodge Charger and two Ford Crown Victoria patrol cars. Continue reading
