Starke County Voters Narrow List of Candidates in County Races

  
 

A six-way race to choose the Democratic nominee for the Starke County Commissioner District 3 seat ends with Karen Tibbs being chosen to face Republican Charles Chesak in November. They’re hoping to replace Kent Danford, who is not seeking reelection. Tibbs received nearly 28 percent of the vote, while the second-place Democratic candidate, Joseph Woods only got 19 percent. Early Voting Ends Today

 
 

Today is the last chance to vote early before tomorrow’s primary election. For Starke County residents, in-person absentee voting takes place in the County Courthouse in Knox from 8 a.m. until noon. In Pulaski County, voters can cast their ballots today from 9:30 to noon at the Pulaski County Public Library. Starke County Election Board Sets Absentee Dates, Times

 
 

In-person absentee voting in Starke County in advance of the May 3rd primary election will begin April 5th and continue through May 2nd.

Polls will be open at the Starke County Courthouse each Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until noon and from 1 until 4 p.m. Voters must bring a photo identification with them to cast ballots in the second floor meeting room. Continue reading

Friday’s candidate filing deadline brought a flurry of activity in Starke County. A total of six Democrats are seeking their party’s nomination for the Commissioner District 3 seat held by Republican Kent Danford. He is not running again. Candidates include Karen Tibbs, Anthony R. Bailey, Robert G. Manning, Tony Minix, Kenneth Arnett and Joseph Woods. The winner will face Republican Charles Chesak in November. Continue reading
