The Pulaski County Commissioners will open bids for various projects this evening. One of those involves several miles of paving work on County Roads 200 South and 400 East. The commissioners had approved a contract with Central Paving of Logansport for nearly $1.2 million, but they later repealed that decision to allow the project to be bid out formally. The City of Knox has successfully taken down eight dilapidated houses through a state blight elimination grant program. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council Tuesday night two more are slated for demolition next week and should be down by the end of the year. Continue reading

The City of Knox will be able to demolish a total of 10 houses with funds from a blight elimination grant. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council Tuesday the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority has accepted the final two structures into the program. Continue reading

Knox Receives Reimbursement from Blight Elimination Program

The City of Knox should be able to successfully tear down 10 houses with funds from a blight elimination grant. So far four houses have been removed with funds from the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority, and another four are under contract for demolition. Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston says the city should know any day whether two more houses are accepted into the program. He adds the city has received a reimbursement of $20,600 from the state through the program. Continue reading
