Oregon-Davis students continue to benefit from the generosity of local residents, businesses, and organizations. The school board Monday accepted $25,000 in grant funding from the Hardesty Memorial Endowment Fund. The grant came about after the school board took action last month to intercept state income tax refunds to collect unpaid fees, and the Hardesty Fund offered to pay off the entire debt instead.

Art education is getting a boost at Oregon-Davis. On Monday, the school board accepted a $300 grant for the Art Department from the Cheryl Lyn Welter Family Charitable Foundation, as well as a $350 grant from the Northern Indiana Community Foundation to help give kindergarten teachers resources for art projects, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

That’s according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman. “We were one of 82 school districts in the State of Indiana that received a Title IV grant from the state,” says Superintendent Dr. Don Harman, “which will be utilized for professional development to increase our teachers’ instructional capacity in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.”
Tiffany Nagai, a representative of Farm Bureau was present at the Oregon-Davis School Board meeting to donate $500 to the elementary school. The money will go toward a field trip to Fair Oaks Farms. Continue reading

There will be an array of activities to participate in on Saturday, June 14, including a 2K dog walk, obstacle courses and a dog show.
