2019 Starke County Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Applications Now Available

Senior students who may be stressing out about how to pay for college will be happy to learn that applications are now available for the Starke County Community Foundation’s Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

Community Foundation officials say that in order to be eligible for this 4-year full-tuition scholarship, applicants have to currently reside in Starke County. They also need to be a high school senior on track to graduate with a diploma from an accredited Indiana high school by the end of June 2019. Continue reading

Looking for FAFSA Assistance? Don’t Miss College Goal Sunday at Plymouth High School

College-bound students looking for financial assistance will need to fill out a FAFSA and unfortunately, many people find the process time consuming or confusing.

However, there’s no need to stress, as free financial aid assistance is just a few weeks away with College Goal Sunday.

At 2 p.m. ET on February 25th financial aid professionals will be volunteering at 40 sites across the state, assisting Hoosier students with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This year’s nearest College Goal Sunday site is Plymouth High School. Continue reading

Knox High School to Host Financial Aid Night

Help will be available to senior students, parents or guardians in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in a special financial aid informational night.

Kelly Manning from Ancilla College will explain the financial aid process and give information on the FAFSA form which will be available on Oct. 1. Manning will field questions after the presentation, they are equipped with the audio visual systems for school, so hopefully the event goes well. Time will be available to begin work on the FAFSA form online.

January 1st is the day students can begin to apply for financial aid for college and with the cost of attending a state school averaging $25,000 a year, many families are looking for any grants, scholarships and loans.
