Local Community Service Organizations Benefit from WKVI December Food Drives

The WKVI food drives held in early December resulted in community members providing a plethora of goods to Community Services of Starke County and Pulaski County Human Services.

Community Services of Starke County Executive Director Charmaine Dunkel said that more than 700 pounds of food was donated at the Five Star site. They also received about $108 in cash donations and a $500 gift certificate for the food pantry.

Pulaski County Human Services representatives shared that nine carts of food were donated at the Sanders Foods site in Winamac. Continue reading

Jacki Frain Presented With 2014 Halleck Award

The annual meeting of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce and the Halleck Award Recognition Banquet was held Saturday evening at the Event Center in Winamac, honoring Jackie Frain as this year’s Halleck Award recipient for her outstanding services to the community. Frain was honored after the organization’s annual meeting, adding her to the list of 31 previous recipients.

Jacki Frain Named Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce Halleck Award Winner

A Winamac resident with a lengthy list of community service and honors is the 2014 H.J. Halleck Award Winner. Pulaski County Human Services Executive Director Jacki Frain will be honored by the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce next month. Frain is a longtime chamber board member and serves on the Halleck Award committee. She is also a member of the Germanfest committee, a grant writer and administrator for the Pulaski County Family YMCA and conceived, implemented and continues to oversee the Coordinated Local Assistance Service Project (CLASP Toy Store) each December at Pulaski County Human Services. Frain also handles administrative responsibilities for the Pulaski County food pantry.
