Knox School officials are beginning to see some success with updated drop-off and pickup procedures. Previously, cars had been lining up on local roads around the elementary and middle schools. Knox Police K-9 to Receive New Ballistics Vest Thanks to Generous Donation
The Knox Police Department’s K-9 O’Neill will soon be equipped with a brand new ballistics vest thanks to a generous donation.
Sergeant Chad Dulin, who serves as the city’s K-9 officer delivered the monthly report for the police department at Wednesday morning’s Board of Works meeting.

Employees who work for the City of Knox will see a 3 percent pay raise in 2019, following a decision made by city council members last week.

Five Arrested on Drug Charges
Five people were arrested on Tuesday night after the Knox City Police Department received complaints about drug activity at a Knox residence.
According to Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith, officers investigated the complaints, obtained a search warrant and executed the search warrant.
Starke County Commissioners Receive Update from EMS Staff
The Starke County EMS staff is learning how to use their new software.
EMS Director Travis Clary told the commissioners this week that they met with Health EMS officials on Friday to go over the new report writing software. The new software will allow the office to report required statistics to the state. The previous software was no longer compliant in this capacity.
The City of Knox is Cracking Down on Vehicles Zooming through School Zones
Knox City officials have noticed an excessive amount of drivers ignoring the speed limits posted around the schools and they’re preparing to crack down on the problem.
In his report during Tuesday’s city council meeting, Mayor Dennis Estok addressed the issue. He explained that students aren’t the only offenders. Apparently, some bus drivers, parents and other adult motorists are also guilty of traveling too fast in the area. Continue reading
