Police there say accused serial killer Darren Vann, 43, has confessed to killing her and six other women. Williams grew up in Knox and would have graduated from Knox High School in 1997. The Gary man police there say confessed to killing seven women, including a Knox native, has pleaded not guilty in connection with two of the homicides. Darren Vann, 43, has been formally charged in the deaths of Afrika Hardy, whose body was found in a Hammond motel room on Oct. 17th, and Anith Jones, who was one of six women discovered in abandoned homes in Gary. Police there found the body of Kristine Williams, 36, in an abandoned house on Sunday, Oct. 19. Accused murderer Darren Vann led them to the bodies of six women police say he’s confessed to killing after he was arrested in connection with the strangulation death of a woman at a Hammond motel. The Gary man police say confessed to killing seven women, including a former Knox resident, is due in court next week for an initial hearing. Darren Vann, 43, of Gary, faces murder charges in two of the seven murders. He’s due in court Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. in Lake County. Formal charges have been filed against Vann in connection with the deaths of a woman found strangled in a Hammond motel room last week and Merrillville woman discovered in an abandoned house in Gary. A Knox native is among the six murder victims tied to an alleged serial killer arrested over the weekend in Gary. Police say Darren Vann, 43, of Gary, confessed to killing the women and led them to abandoned buildings throughout the city where he had dumped their bodies.
