Plymouth Man Arrested on Battery Charges after Alleged Stabbing

A Plymouth man was arrested Friday after an alleged stabbing incident.

Officers from the Plymouth Police Department were called to a residence in the 700 block of Broadway Street in Plymouth after receiving a call of a possible stabbing incident. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, Crystal Mata, who had stab wounds to her hand and back. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.

Police continued to investigate the case and later arrested Crystal’s husband, 47-year-old Maximino Mata, on preliminary charges of Aggravated Battery as a Class B Felony and Battery with a Deadly Weapon as a Class C Felony. He is currently in the Marshall County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
